Kate Curran Galvin was born and raised in New Jersey and obtained a B.S. in Biology from Towson University and a B.S. in Nursing from Pace University. She has worked in healthcare for over 12 years primarily as a registered nurse. She is also a wife and mom of two. Kate loves traveling, working out, and spending time with family and friends. She began writing children’s books in 2024. Her first series, The Adventures of Ferris, came about when Kate’s kids would ask her to tell them a story in an attempt to avoid bedtime. Kate started recounting true stories to her kids about the family dog, Ferris. Her kids loved the tales so much that she decided to publish them hoping they would bring joy to other children as well. Her goal is to bring happiness to readers and inspire connection between children and their parents or caregivers through reading. Kate currently lives in New Jersey with her family.
About Ferris
Ferris is a mixed breed dog. He looks like a mix between a Jack Russell Terrier and a black and tan coonhound with little bit of Rottweiler thrown in. He has the hunting instincts of a bloodhound and the energy of all those breeds combined! Ferris was adopted by Kate and her husband Dennis in 2017 from Wilson Animal Rescue located in Memphis, Tennessee. Ferris loves his family and other dogs. He dislikes strangers and is scared or suspicious of almost all other animals aside from dogs. He hates getting a bath. He loves the dog park, going on long walks, eating treats, and getting belly rubs from any of his family members!
